During the summer of 2015, I was cleaning the attic and I found my fathers herbarium. A herbarium is a collection of plant specimens that have been pressed, dried and labeled with their Latin names. His collection is from high school, around 40 years ago.
I used a technique called woodcut. Which means I scanned and traced all the plants. Then I used the outlines to carved out the plants in woodblocks, painted the outlines and printed the plants on paper by adding pressure. In a sense I went through the same process as my father.
